this formation is my nightmare. 4-5-1 has failed me so i advise not to use it. i had good result with 4-4-2 wide diamond. normal mentality, red arrows to dl,dr,ml,mr,amc and blue to dmc, long passing, focus flanks, own halh pressing, no offside, counter yes, hard tacl. the problem is that i tried only once so it is not tested enough. if you go back to this thread and search well you will find other formations also. i haven't tried them cause i hadn't the proper players.Quote:

i recently using this formation --> 4-1(dmc)-2(MR&ML)-1(amc)-2, n some time i won with this formation but i always lose by this formation -->3-1(dmc)-5-1.
it's my formation is an illegal? and how to beat this 3-1(dmc)-5-1?

Hi All! I read the sticky about tactics but couldnt find an answer.
It's 17.9(me) vs 18.9 (him) and he has a weird tactic. İ followed some of his matches, there is no "killer"formation vs his 4-5-1
He plays like this:

Usually i counter 4-5-1 with 4-1-2-1-2 but in this case i would go for 4-2-1-1-2, the amc could be succesfull because of his lacking dm and 4defenders with 2 dmc and 1 mc should counter his stunning midfield.
İ would play defensive, mixed passes, maybe offside trap so here you go please give me some advise

That formation is like the butterfly but with a ST instead of a MC. You could try 4-4-2 classic. To be more defensive, you can swap one ST for an AMC, MC, DMC or DC (in order of how much more defensive you will be).

its a 4-5-1 narrow without wingers so try counter it with a 3-5-2 if ur stronger or a 4-5-1 v-style defensive counter over the flanks if ur a little bit weaker then ur opponent..

I think the 3-5-2 should be with wingers, so dont use 3mcs...
