    Weird 4-4-2 formation

    Hello,

Tonight I have a match against a weird 4-4-2 formation. What should I use, which formation with arrows and tactics? Weird 4-4-2 formation-weird-4-4-2.jpg

Attacking mentality, focus passing down both flanks, mixed passing length, own half pressing, normal tackling, zonal marking. If they are getting too many chances then they are probably playing defensive with force counter attacks, in this situation you would want to switch from attacking mentality.

So I can play 4-5-1 V? Or is a other formation better?

Normally 4-4-2 is a hard formation to counter that's why I use it so much), but he has made it easier for you by only having 1 flank player on either side. 4-5-1 V is a good option to attack down the flanks. There are other options, but out of the available ones I have only really tested 4-5-1 V and 3-5-2 V - I'd suggest 4-5-1 V is better because he is using 2 strikers, so having 4 defenders is useful.

I might try a normal 4-4-2 for the second leg. I often find that if I have the stronger team, and they are playing 4-4-2, that although it's a tough match at loggerheads throughout, playing 4-4-2 often works.
