Counter a 5-2-1-2 with a 4-1-4-1. This will put attacking pressure on the flanks, and the DMC will help defend the two strikers. If you find you need a little extra attack put the wide players up to the attacking column for a 4-5V-1.

Formation topic (see first reply) suggest a 3N-1-4-2. I don't like it because you will tie down your wide midfields with defensive work.
