I wait and buy players I really like, regardless of when or what level. I just try to avoid bidding battles so I can get good players for as little cost as possible. The fastest trainer I ever got was on the transfer market for the minimum value (70% player worth) and I only had to spend 2 tokens to get him (in first knockout round), he was also a 5 star when on the market (what a great steal)
