I went with Mr.Marco and Peter Reen's formation and orders .
But i changed from hard tackle to normal and short passing to mixed because my team did not concede any goal before 20th min .
So here's a bit of the changes and my fixture .

The problem with short passing is u have less chances shots on target cause they try to carry the ball into the net, like spain, but i still prefer it cause there's no gap between players in ND so its good for short, u can also surprise opponents if u have great dr n dl, then give them red arrows n attack mixed, cause Noone expects a narrow diamond attacks through the flanks
A friendly vs level lower is useless, ur player won't improve, u should play friendlies higher o same, i usually improve 6 to 9 player with every friendly vs higher o same

I play same, ND, u should use short passing, attacking mentality, since it's a attacking formation, arrows are same as i use, its all correct
Look myself, played vs bottom, he lost all games, dominated me haha i won by free kick....

Hmm well it doesn't look that bad... ;-)

Just 2 things:
-I wouldn't play with forcing counterattacks if you're the stronger team...
-Have you tried out playing with hard tackling style? -For me it works much better than with normal one and I don't get remarkably more cards at all

And last but not least I wanna add that everyone has sometimes a period in which he just can't win no matter what he does.
But fortunately, those streaks won't last for ever
