How to beat this formation?

ml--mc--mr
St--st--st--
Although average quality slightly slower than me,50.3 to 49.3, he always beat me by a big margin,usually 4-0. My current formation is 4-4-2 ND diamond, do you think it will work? Please do not suggest formation that involves flanks as I do not have any.

I am going to use 451 v style against him ..

I think the narrow diamond will work. Its what i'd use if playing through the flanks wasn't an option. Red arrows on DMC, both MC's and AMC. attacking, through the middle, whole pitch, short passing, zonal, no counter, no offsides.
