Counter against 3W-5-2 Flat

Hi Managers,

I just had a CUP match against a higher level player. In general his overall quality was about 1.5 more than mine, however he has a 9 man scout team! (as he is 1 level higher).

I tried to search for counter against 3W-5-2 but the only one I could find was from CHris Rath's post under "General Discussion"

KFC kept their brilliant league form with 9 points, but in the cup (0-4 with 3W-5-2 (me) vs. 4-1-4-1 WTF!!!) and CL (1 point) we have problems. Todays league manager brought a good support, but the match worked:

I hope the team can bring such performances in the next CL matches, for the cup nearly all hope is gone.

Seeing that Chris had lost to a 4-1-4-1 by 4:0, i was excited and thought this must be the counter!

Well, I played 4-1-4-1, normal, own half, mixed focus, long pass, hard tackle, zonal, no offiside/counter. I wasn't really paying much attention to the commentry as I was driving, low and behold, it was a 4:0 score! I was NIL!!

So here I am seeking advice again on how to counter the 3W-5-2 Flat. Much appreciated, thanks!

P/s: I had slightly more possession (friends), almost twice his shots, but lesser on targets, same amount of tackles, twice the amount his corners (but didn't score any).

4-3n-1-2, what orders did you use when you lost 4-0

Orders I had mentioned in my post above: "I played 4-1-4-1, normal, own half, mixed focus, long pass, hard tackle, zonal, no offiside/counter." Chris Rath did exclaimed "WTF", so perhaps its a troll game and 3W-5-2 Flat suppose to counter 4-1-4-1.

Tbh, 4-3N-1-2 would be my next attempt But I doubt I'm able to rob this cup away from the scout player... will do my best.
So orders: Attacking (nothing to lose, hard attacking even), Own hald, Through the Middle, Short Pass, Hard Tackle, No counter/Offside trap? Or should it be long pass instead to counter the 3W-5-2 Flat's formation?

Played 4-3N-1-2, but still, Out of the CUP, lost 3-1, aggregate 7-1
Just can't beat this now 10 Scout player
