i think the guy im playing in 5 hours currently has an illegal formation

he normally plays 4-1-3-2 with dmc mc mc mc in the middle (legal)
but he appears to be countering with
dc dc dc
dmc
mc mc mc
amc
st st

that is an illegal formation right? i just found out about illegal formations so im not really sure

so my (long) question is:
is he dumb?
does he maybe not know about illegal formations?
or can illegal formations actually work?

it`s not so much illegal now but if stay`s like this he will lose % of possession, he could be setting you up so look at previous games he`s played and formation in these

he usually plays 4-1-3-2 but he changed to this weird narrow thing yesterday. im pretty sure he is doing it to counter my width. maybe he doesnt know the rules. i didnt know them either until i came here. at first he changed to dc dc dc - dmc dmc - mc - amc -st st st but then he changed to this other thing

I'm pretty sure they removed illegal formations from the game, so it won't actually affect his possession directly. I'm 90% of it, but don't quote me as fact
