Help with 4-1-2-1-2 Wide Diamond

I have some doubts about how to counter this formation, played twice against this guy on champions league, won the first match but 1:0 only, and now I only got a draw, I have tried 3n-1-4-2 then changing to 3-5-2 flat, attacking on the middle, I thought that would be the best since he doesn't have any MCs, but didn't seem to work properly, it's weird because he is a lot weaker than me. What's the best formation to counter this one in your opinion?

3-5-2 flat..i always use that tactics when facing 4-1-2-1 wide diamond..

attack both flanks..hard tackling.. own half..

I suggest u to use 4-1-2-1-2ND . Defensive with counter, through middle,long ball.
If u see not much shot at target then chage to normal attacking....no counter.

What's your orders with 3n-1-4-2? Maybe you choose wrong orders. Another solution is 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow Diamond, attack through the middle. You'll have stronger midfielder and more possession.

If I remember correctly I went through the middle, pressing own field and with counters on.

No, 3n-1-4-2 is not a counter attack tactic, so counter ON is wrong. And attack through the middle is wrong, too.
Moreover, you need a new DMC, your DMC has really bad form

And yeah I have new DMCs right now doing it really good, so that won't be a problem anymore
