I've had some success with 4-5-1V against these ultra-narrow formations. Defensive/long ball, use flanks, etc...
3N-2(DML/R)-3N-2 and 3N-2(DML/R)-2-2(AML/R)-1 Butterfly also come to mind...
...and the good old 4-4-2 Classic is worth a look...
