Use 4-5-1 V style, attacking mentality, short passing, no counterattack and offside trap. Zonal defending, low pressing and normal tackling. Once you're 2 up bring your DMC to defence and hard defending. 1 up then switch to normal mentality. 1 down then put your AMCs to ST, hard attacking, high pressing and offside trap. It works for me, most of the time.

Against teams with weird formations, I use a classic formation that fits and I can use my best players, so against no1 team, I would use your formation but as 4-3-3. Two DC vs his 2ST.
For the second team, I would use wingers. Teams with 3dDC+1DMC are strong in the center of defense, so better play with wingers.
Try to find an AMR.

Itd normal in this game that midfielders score more goals than strikers?

you Play through the middle. of course it s normal, that your mc´s score more Goals. i m not sure, but i think, if you Play strong pressing, the st will score more Goals than mc´s. try it, i will try it too
