4-5-1 V-Style: Keeping it simple is the best choice :)

    Hi,

A couple of days ago I started playing in 4-5-1 V-Style formation with no arrows and the following instructions:

    Team Mentality: Normal
    Focus Passing: Mixed
    Pressing Style: Low
    Tackling Style: Normal
    Passing Style: Mixed
    Marking Style: Zonal

    No counter-attacks, no offside trap

Yeah, very simple and pretty much the default configurations. I'm in level 32, and I was struggling with my old fancy tactics, so I started to play with this simple 4-3-3 and guess what? The results came, even against strong teams (my team is 5*, the average quality in my league is between 5* and 6*). I just have this things on my mind to ensure that all goes well:

    1) Morale and Condition must be at least in Good
    2) Against much better teams, I can also change to 4-1-4-1 (put the wingers in line with the MC's), with Defensive Team Mentality and Counter Attacks
    3) If loosing, I change to 4-3N-2-1 (just push the DM to M), red arrows on the wingers, Attacking Team Mentality, High press and Offside Trap
    4) If things are going wrong, I add a team prize to win the match, to keep the players motivated. I also remove that prize if things are going well.

I can post some more SS, if you want. Also, I don't have any more tricks to share, like I said, the key for me is to keep things simple

Please share your results, and feel free to correct my English if needed

I'm afraid I did not understood your question. For me, 4-3-3 is equal to 4-5-1V, here in Portugal we always say 4-3-3 when we are talking about this formation, I don't know if this was your doubt...

    Good to hear

Today I won 5-1 away against a 5* team, just like mine. But I re-added team prize because i'm trying to reach the top four in my league, so the result was influenced by that, probably. A week ago I was in 13th

Remember: keep players condition above 85% and good/excellent morale, and change the tactic to 4-1-4-1 Defensive/Counter or 4-3N-2W(with red arrows)-1 Attacking/High Press/Offside Trap if needed

EDIT: Ok, some more SS (today's match and league standings)

    Trying an epic CL place

So far with this approach: 7 Games, 7 Wins. I'm not counting the friendlies, and the squad is the very same squad I used until the 11th game, when I was in 13th with 6 points.

Wow it seems you've mastered the 4-5-1v

I was actually doing alright with the 4-5-1v before but I need more goals in games.

I hope you can go on a run and make top 4

Hehe nice to see Portuguese style tactics doing well in Top 11. My standard is 4-1-4-1 with red arrows on wingers. Instructions are:

    Team Mentality: Attacking
    Focus Passing: Both Flanks
    Pressing Style: Low
    Tackling Style: Normal
    Passing Style: Mixed
    Marking Style: Zonal
    Counter: On
    Offside: Off

    1st place in the league 21W 1D 0L
    Qualified for the Cup Final
With advantage in CL semi so far.

For those wandering I only have a scout player, a FK winger...

    Looks like a nice system

Another great tactic is the Dortmund 12/13 4-2-3-1:

    Mentality: Attacking
    Focus Passing: Mixed
    Pressing Style: High
    Tackling Style: Hard
    Passing Style: Mixed/Long
    Marking Style: Zonal
    Counter: On
    Offside: On

Blue arrows on MC's, red arrows in DE, AMR and AMC

Right now i don't have team for this tactic but I had some sucess with it.
