Is 4-1-2-1-2 Overused in TE?

I'm only level 3 ATM and still relatively new, but my first few matches in the league and Champions League I've played 4-1-2-1-2 formations of some sort; whether it's 2 CMs or 2 wing mids. So just out of curiosity, will I still see this formation in later levels? Because I usually run 3-4-1-2 and it's been working pretty well for me.

Also, can someone explain to me why there's no RF or LF in this game? I really want to run 5-2-3 just like what my school plays. :(

i dunno what you mean with 5-2-3 but i might guess you meant 2 rear wings between the defense and midfield's lines? If so you can play 3 central def, 1 dml, 1 dmr as back wings, 3 midfielders, either 3 forwards or 2 + one amc. Use arrows to wheter decide if your mid wings has to attack or defend more.

4-4-2 is overused in my opinion. A lot of people don't know how to play the 4-4-2 and play it with the wrong tactics... But it's up to you really. 4-1-2-1-2 is attacking but you need to put red arrows on your DL and DR for extra attacking threat

That's a 3N-2W-2N-3 formation. I've seen it a few times. I even played it in my CL final last season and beat it

Yeah I've noticed that a lot, too; and I usually blow them out 3-0 or 4-1. Wait, there's a wrong way in playing 4-4-2? :S

You're supposed to play 4-4-2 with short passing, down both flanks, normal mentality, no counter, no offside trap.

I underlined the important ones. Normal mentality is recommended because 4-4-2 is a balanced formation

Yes I think 4-1-2-1-2 is over used in TE, but I don't mind this because I know how to counter this and beat it.

I do think that's fo basic 4-4-2. With Narrow Diamond you can go through the center (since tou use 2 mc and one amc) and cover the sides motivating the defender wings. I sometimes unmotivate my dmc too in case i face 3 STs. And i play that offensive usually.

4-1-2-1-2 counters the 4-4-2 anyway. 4-5-1 V counters them both, but not as effective on the 4-4-2

Yeah, and back to topic, most people play 4-1-2-1-2 just due to the same roles involved. That way you can just buy mc/amc for mid without haing to variate roles. Ofc this ends up in having no other options. But a good 4-4-2 with good backup roles can adapt to almost any formation

Thats funny, I've always played 4-4-2 with long passing and its worked alright for me.

Looks more like the butterfly to me. Put red arrows on your wingers.

4-1-2-1-2 is what ive recently changed my formation too lol. I have quality players to play it both wide and narrow (also means i have a quality 4-4-2), depending on my opponent. I mainly changed to this due to my league and CL being full of ****, abandoned teams that can be hammered.
