    Counter Formation for 4-2N-3W-1

He has the following formation, his team is stronger than mine. He averages 3.9 goals per game!!!
    DL-DC-DC-DR
    -----MC----MC----
    AML--AMC--AMR
    ---------ST-----------

    Thanks!

Tough one to have the right personnel, but this is one of my favorites if I'm weaker against an offensive formation: 3dc-3(dml/c/r)-2mc-1amc-1st. Defensive/counter/through middle/short

I've been looking for a good counter for that formation. I'm trying your counter out at 4:30. I'll post my results to let you know how it worked out. CL match

Hi, I would try with 4-5-1 vstyle, 3n-3w-2-1-1 or 4-1-2-1-2 narrow diamond, according to your team qualities.

    Defensive/High defensive ,counter on,mixed/short pass

4-5-1 v-style : mixed target, red arrows on aml,amr and st

3n-3w-2-1-1 : mixed target ,red arrows on dml, dmr, amc and st

4-1-2-1-2 : center target, red arrows on dl,dr,amc and 2st

Do not use blue arrows when playing defensive or high defensive,
otherwise you allow your opponents to score easier.

Do not use red arrow on dmc if opponent uses amc (as in your situation),

if st often go offside, try removing red arrows.

Can you explain this one? Do you mean on specific positions? I personally haven't experienced this. I use blue arrows in defensive mentality all the time.

Not sure about the 4-5-1 V. The formation described above has been my nighmare last season. I'm playing mostly 4-5-1 V and could not manage a win against this (4 attempts - costed me the treble), even when I was the best side. Please report if you have any success with something.

I decided to go with 4-5V-1, won the home game 2-0 and lost the away game 0-1, moved on to the next round on aggregates. It was a very close away game.
