    Which formation to beat 4 5 1 V style?

    Hello everyone,

I read a lot about the 4 5 1 V style formation but I'm still not sure about what to use :

    Opponent :

    ----------ST---------
    ----AML-----AMR---
    -------MC--MC------
    ---------DMC---------
    DL----DC--DC----DR

What formation should I use ? and which orders?

Thx a lot, my game is tomorrow!

4-5-1 V-style is a very versatile formation. A counter depends on the arrows set by the other manager.

If the system is unmotivated, you can play for example the butterfly (3N-2W-2-2W-1) to block his wingers, to gain a possession bonus in midfield and to attack him over the wing with single covered offensive wingers. The unmotivated version is usually played as a counter-orientated tactic with mixed passing.

If he motivates his wingers you need 4 defenders or you have to pressure the whole pitch to let him not come to offense. The motivated is usually played with short passing.

It really depends. Maybe it helps, if you post your squad and the one of the opponent. Then have a basis to talk about mentality and style of passing, too.

Here his team, I'm sure he will motivate his wingers, cause I know him and he scores a lot of goals...

He got 20 in average quality for his team and I got 19.5
Should I keep that team against him ? which orders are necessary ?

If he plays with motivated wingers, you need 4 defenders to contain the ST and both motivated AMR/AML. If you want to try a defensive tactics with fast counters, 4-2DMC-ML(up),MR(up)-AMC-ST could be a good choince. Normal mentality (since you are both about the same quality), pressing own half, force counter attacks, mixed attack (or down both flanks; both should work since AMC is single covered, wingers, too) and mixed or long passing (since we want to counter).

The system is no win garantee, but it covers the strong points of his a motovated 4-5-1V and exploits the weak points. Good luck.

He was playing outside with this formation (but in the image its my players) and he won 4-1 against 4 5 1 V Style and they have the same average quality, same formation than I will play tonight and I will be playing outside too!
Was he lucky ? or it really works?

Which orders to use in this case?
