Help me analyze this match: 4-5-1 V-Style against a "Dandelion" 3n-1-3w-1-2 formation

nikolgiorgos why is that? (I mean in real life the point of long passes is to bypass the lines...)


also, by complete accident I found a counter strategy even though I don't understand it. My opponent (using the 3n-1-3w-1-2) went up against a team with a somewhat similar central spine (4-1-3w-1-1) and lost. So I attempted the same formation, using the following tactics:

- Hard Defending
- Normal Tackling
- Short Mixed Passing with Counterattacks ON (I know, weird right? But the stats of the team that beat him indicated that was what he was doing so I copied it)
- No press or offside trap

The results were very positive. I ended up in a CL 2-leg matchup with the guy who keeps beating me and got 2-1 and 2-2 result (and in the 2-2 my team was not in good condition and it was an away match.)

Someone should update the table of counter formations...this guy never lost at all before this, and then against this formation he couldn't get a single win in 3 matches.
