vs 3-4-1-2 , you don't explain the positions of the defenders.
if it's 3N (3 DC), for sure 4-5-1 V sounds perfect
I would start with defense/counter/from the flanks (the others normal) and long pass.
This can work good if oppo doesn't have DMs but you must keep an eye in % of passing or the comments of as. manager.
I would start with 2 red arrows to my wingers, 1 blue arrow to one of my DC and maybe to m DMC if oppo AMC is dangerous.

4-4-2 for me doesn't have a clear counter

But is your team familiar with this formation ?
I 'm not sure if you set your team in a formation that looks like a good counter but you never played like this before.
