    Only 2 defenders

I am thinking a little bit like manchester city right now and would like to try this

    dc - dc
    dml -dmc -dmr
    mc - mc
    aml - amr
    st

i have arrow down on all 3 defensive midfielders

does any body know the penalty of playing with 2 defenders? if there are any.??

i know the is a chance to take, but i would be nice to try

anybody tried this one over a period of time then i would like to know.

    all inputs are welcome

You get a possession penalty, I do not know how big it is, would guess at 5-10%, something like that. Definitely not a game-killer so to speak, but at the same time a disadvantage that isn't completely insignificant.

With one of my accounts I have solved this with a back-line of:
    DL-DC-DC-DMR

Arrows up on the DL, and often the DMR too.

Try it and let it know how it goes!

With City, I would probably try
    Sagna (DR)-Ota(DC)-Stones(DC)------------------
    ----------------------Fernandinho(DMC(R)--Kolarov (DMR)
    ---------Grundogan(MC(L))------------------De Bruyne
    Sterling (AML)-----------------Silva(AMC(L)-----------
    Auguero (ST)

KDB would be very offensive even as a ML with the offensive arrow. I recon you would want him to be the FK-specialist. Kolarov should definitely have the Shadow-Striker ability, would get to take a lot of long-shots from that position. Silva and Grundogan as Dribblers to help you get more possession. And so forth.

Legend- Yeah I know, but I you cannot really say "this is how City plays" in TE.

Without the ball, City plays 4-1-4-1. With the ball, they play 3-2-4-1.

When they win the ball, the DCs go out on each side of the field. Fernandinho drops down from DMC to DC. And, most unique, the DL and DR actually moves in to center field as MCs to overload against the opponent there. The midfielders are freed up to to go high up field since they have a numeral advantage their.

You can work with arrows in TE, but that you can never accomplish. I think the closest you could get in TE is to play like something something seemingly nuts like this but with normal or even defensive and man-man defense and high pressure:

Real nice work Svanberg with formation i will give it a shot. got this right players for this as well.

in terms of orders i was thinking, Offensive, mixed , short , no counter, high pressure , hard tackling, man to man, offside

i am better than most team in my league that why i play high pressure and man to man

    will post formation shortly

do you agree on this orders??

    Frek- Yeah, sounds good.

You can also experiment with normal/zone/low press and counter-attack on.

In principle, this formation is not much unlike the 4-5(v)-1 formation. On the midfield you have really only moved up KDB and moved down Sterling in relation to the 5(v) midfield. The striker is the same. The only fundamental difference is that you have moved up your DR to DMR. So any order combo that works for 4-5-1 v can be used with that formation.
