This is where I give up really.
I currently have this team:

I am in a league where everybody is within a point in terms of strength.
Tactics I usually use 3-1-4-2 no longer works, concedeing six goals even.
But whatever I do, nothing changes, I have like fourth worst defence, third worst attack. Thus far haven't encountered something like this.
Of course, many teams play 4-4-2 which is beatable only by chance.
What should I do? Except quitting the game.

Purchase AMC then try 4-1-2-1-2 Narrow
Or youu can review if your players are correctly positioned because according to the screenshot, one of them wasn't
Buy 2 dl's. I always play with 4 in the back
Edit. I look wrong. Buy 1 dl and 1 dr. Make sure u have all position double
Agree. 3 in the back can't win on the long run. AML/R rule in this game.

you have good aml/amr and you have good dmc.
I would go 4-5-1v, not flat
If one of your wing AM is off for a match, I would go to the more defensive 4-1-4-1 that Nik proposed above.
If you played with 3 DC and oppo attacks from flanks you are screwed.
At least above systems are well balanced, maybe not the best counter for some formations, but certainly never a 100% fail counter formation
Can you add the stats page with goals etc info of the team?^^

yes, everything, players advancing, adding bonuses during the game, watching. the lot. i simply cannot score whatever tactics i use. few times squandered two goal lead from free kicks or something even though i was a far better side. i really don't get it.Quote:

For me, the assistant manager saying "we should work on improving our condition bonus" means you are playing your games without the condition bonus being 10%. If the condition one is not 10% i doubt whether the others are as well. If thats the case, then you can pick up some easy points by maxing them out each day.
yeah, but if you train your team so hard, when are they going to rest? especially if you play three competitions. and as i said before, i haven't changed a thing compared to last season which i finished easily. i hardly doubt i play against 13 mourinhos this season. my opinion is gameplay shouldn't change so often because in that case it all comes down to luck, numbers game or whatever. there can be no real football. for me, there is no logic for one tactic to work wonders only to be trashed after the next upgrade. supposedly this is what happenned to me, 3-1-4-2 simply did not work any more even against sides without l/r midfielders where it's only logical to beat them with such a tactic.Quote:

On the point of how mechanics change, I'm not sure they have, and if they have, not drastically. As was mentioned earlier, some players play better than others, no matter the stars, and counter tactics work as well. And sometimes, it's just rng and being unlucky. But trying to minimise the rng is the real fun of the game.

Rng is random number generator. Basically, it's just a way of saying some things are random.
On the topic of subs, I don't train my main team to get the bonuses, only my subs. I train them all at once, using drills to get all four of the bonuses up. After that, I see how much time until the next game, and then take time to train my main squad, so that I still have 99% when the match comes around, and have the full 40% bonus.
You really need to train your entire squad. Listen to your Assistant Manager on and off the field.
are you saying that training is exclusively to blaim for my poor results? if so, the game is crazy...

hm, but this training business seems to take most of the time in the game. no other activity within it doesn't take as much effort, including setting up team tactics. but, it really can be the reason why i failed so miserably this season, there really were weird swings inside the games, especially ones i took the lead in.Quote:

Just chipping in with my thoughts here.
Something else that appears to have been overlooked, from what I've seen [or rather not seen in this thread] is that there's no mention of what tactics you use in your matches.
They can also have a big affect on your game and how you do set your team up to do this when choosing Defensive. Normal. Attacking. Zonal. Offside trap.. etc etc. and your players skills when selecting them.
I'm assuming you do set your team up to your strengths. Do you?
Look at your players strengths/weaknesses and look at the oppositions. I play to my strengths and not to theirs. If it means using "negative tactics" (i.e; hard defending or defensive and counter attacking) then I do it, if needed, because I prefer an open and attacking game, but if needed I do this.
I like to have very fit players, they don't tire as much in a game, and I found when I first played this game I was losing a lot of matches in the final 20 minutes or so. Fitness counts when playing this game. (less chance of an injury etc)
If you're willing(?) to lose games in a cup tournaments, assuming you're in them, to improve your squad then concentrate on the league instead (...as if people would do that in this game... ;) ) and then use the "spare time" you have to train your players and get their skill levels/ratings improved. (I did that last season... I went out of the cup in the first round and I scraped through the Group Stage of the C/L league and got to the round of 16 and finished third in the league.
I use my lower rated/younger players in cup games to improve them, apart from training them that is. Also see if you can get the required players on the marketplace to improve your squad where needed.
U got 2 good AmL and Amr, should play down the wings.
4-5-1v maybe ?
And chuck away that defender Addo, hes not good.
To me, of the all the known factors that affect your team performance, bonus is the most imortant. I see a similarity with win bonus: the thing you must definitely avoid is to go down the scale: my team is always very uneffective when playing at 8% when usually it's 10%. Today, it took them all my small change to beat a half-abandoned,40% weaker team.
