    How to counter short passing

I wonder how you guys counter teams using short passes.
How do you set your orders?
Is there any ultimate advice on how to decrease short passing efficiency?
    Please share your experience.

    Thanks in advance.

Well, long passing and high passing often works well for me against a full flat 5 midfield. Maybe the opposite is true, a crowded midfield disrupts short passing, 2dmc +4 mid. Who knows.

Possession bonus is the only obvious answer I can think of.

Well, I'm not sure Nik, but I can't remember I ever got 90% of completed passes when using mix. The manager I'm thinking of reaches 89-90% every second game. That's why I assume he may use short passes.

I thought of hard tackling maybe, but it may backfire with cards and deadly FK on the other hand.

High press? will try in the upcoming game.

I can hit 90 with mixed passing, especially defensive. But you're probably right about short

yes, you can hit a 89-90% also with mix passing
    some factors that affect
    - the number of your midfield players (vs oppo)
    - the quality of players and the "talent"/ internal programming
    - the good/bad day - roll dice
    - maybe not direct but % of training bonus and the victory bonus (motivation)

I never use short passing (too tiki-taka for me lol )
Mix passing is the default and long vs flat formations
Long passing maybe gives less % but it can be more effective in scoring/result

this is a game of my reserves
I had high % of passing with mix but more and better q players in the center.
But my attackers weren't so effective in front of goal post so the score wasn't wide.

I suppose a good DMC can help and yes high pressing/ hard tackling/man to man aren't my default setting but I use them as emergency button if I want to change the flow of a game or reverse a bad result.
