yea like in the beggining of the season, I tried 4-5-1 v-style with defensive and counter attacks on and I ended up loosing 4 to 1.

i was 88% and he was 95% now I'm 100% and hes 108%. Btw he has 2 world class players.

try 4-1-2-2-1 counter attack short pass

then use 4-1-4-1 instead of 4-5-1 V
also you can try some orders like high pressing, hard tackling, man to man
just a formation (or orders) it's not the magic recipe to win every game
