3-5-2 against the 4-5-1 flat woud be best used with long passing with zonal marking and down both flanks no counter no offside trap. Attacking tactics should be focused on long balls. This requires a forward with good pace and speed.

then stay on 4 4 2 classic and put red arrows at MR/L ... and red arrows at DR/L ... Normal ... no counter attack .. no offside trap ... short passing ... whole pitch ...

I played the 3-2-4-1 style. with long passing and all as said bvefore. won the match 0-1.
But lost on penalties. 5% home possession for him
