Is 3-5-2v what I should be doing when I'm protecting a lead?

Have you considered 4-5-1 flat? that way you will dominate the midfield and I would not advise you play with 3 defenders if he palys 3 ST and AMC. It feels abit too risky. From the looks of his formation I think he is playing defense mentality with counter attack.

4-5-1 would be good except he has AM. I might need a DMC to counter them. These stupid formations give me a head ache haha.
