How do you counter 3N-4-1-2?

As topic, how do you counter 3N-4-1-2 as 4-5-1V style did not work. I lost the match 2-4 in a CL game. Both team are almost the same in quality on every position and overall. and I had abit more possession than him and about same amount of shots. What should I do? Im meeting him in 2 days again.

i just had a home match with an opponent rating of 55 and my rating was 42,he played the same formation 3n-4-1-2 and i countered 4-5-1V with up arrow on DMC and the result was a draw ,mentality normal,down both flanks,mixed passing ,whole pitch.
Game ended in a draw and we both watched the match.

You could try 4-3-3 mixed passing and long balls.

I searched and did not find anything specific about this formation. And I also looked in the counter formation thread before I made this post.

for 3N-4-1-2 you should counter depends what abilities ve got your players.
you canot compare quality of teams like a global parameter/ some teams have big sisproportions between key players and the rest. some players are develeped in defense, some in offense.

however i would start to think not to check other opinions.
3N-4-1-2 is weak on flanks. so 4-5-1 v style should defenitely work. of course you should attack via flanks. if opponent is stronger or you re losing, use hard pressure, use red arrows for your aml/r and dl/r.

of course if you have totally weak flanks you can search for sth different.
f.ex.
3N-4-1-2 doesn't have DMC.
thereby use 3N-4-1-1 and put red arrow for your key factor AMC. put an attack via middle.
i believe -1-1 can be more effective than -2 in this strategy.
obviously before a game use your "blue" stuff for this AMC, as he should be the guy who will build your win, so mentality is a clue here.

during a game if you are loosing, i would suggest to not change your DMC into forwarder to fast. rather try to refresh your MCs in second half or use arrows (maybe even blue for flanks and red for MCs).
keep in mind that during game your changes are available after circa 4 minutes, so you can see if your change bring some advanteges for you or not.

and maybe small tip globally. despite of flanks or middle, if you re playing against someone, just count his DL/DC/DR , MC ML MR DMC and AMC should be counted also together and ST also.
so here you have 3-5-2 , you can check which his players have attack abilities. if it is flank - put your flank to focus in defense. if you expect that main fight will be in the middle - try to be better in this field... use as in example 6 guys DMC-4MC-1AMC. in this way you should win this.

also if you are almost sure that main fight will be in the middle you can try 3rd option

i know that it is against my previous couting. but on the other hand very often i see that if 3-5-1 v style doesn't work 4-1-2-1-2 narrow does
you can be sure that your dl and dr take care about his ml and mr. you can still believe that in the middle even 4 guys will handdle battle. you are still keep advantage of AMC in your tactic, and finally you have 2 STs not just 1.

thereby if v style did not work i would suggest 3-1-4-1-1 abroad or at the begging, and switch to diamond in case it is a home game or you are losing and you need to repair it.
