I think it would be a bit too complicated to implement. There have been suggestions regarding "relegation" and while it does sound good, it may not be suitable for the game

Sounds like the game engine had an off day, opponent probably had defensive counter tactics. But from the sound of it, you dominated so the formation worked just a bit unlucky with the finishing :(
