It is a called "overloading" which supposedly works well when opposing manager is absent. The risk is when the opposing manager starts passing on the vacant side.

Boosting players is not as hard as it used to be. Skill rewards help much in the first place. And if you do manipulate the draws, mom rewards are amazing to keep your star competitive, even a mutant....
