   Well you should be making subs regardless of the score. Changing tactics midway through the match does affect the result as I've come back from behind to win after putting on an extra striker.

    I keep my youths for about 6 seasons minimum and keep PTing them back to 7*, that's why I don't have to get that many players. I just recycle my youths so I don't have to spend more greens training...
