Long distance relationships

Has anyone ever been in one, or are you in one right now? How is/was it? I'm about to have one, I will be leaving for Melbourne on the 14th for college but she'll be going to college locally in Malaysia.

I decided on going to college in Melbourne well before we got together, we've been together for slightly more than 2 months now. I'll be in Melbourne for at least the next 4 years, I'll be able to come back at most once or twice a year.

Have any of you ever been in one and how did it work out for you? Was it easy to find time for one another, and were you able to communicate often? Especially college and university situations would be helpful.

Hey, i'm currently in a long distance relationship, we have 4 months togheter and it's pretty hard but that depends the type of person she and you are, i visit here often that really puts the realtionship in a "good mood" but If you say that you will be home at most once or twice that will be pretty hard because the temptation at a college it's everywhere. I won't be tempted by them. I prefer Malaysian girls to Australians, Malaysian-Chinese of course, like myself, because in Malaysia we have three main races, Chinese, Malay and Indian, and also all the native races.

How old are you and Pricop by the way? Can I know more about both your situations?

It's true that it's a long time, and it will be 5 years if I do well. This year, I will do 1 year of foundation in commerce, and after that, 3 years studying Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in actuarial studies. If I do very well, I'll be given an offer to return for an additional year of Honours program. Maybe after that, I'll have to stay in Australia to get work experience, I'm not sure.

Even if I come back sooner or stay in Malaysia, we still have to study, and she might take longer than me. She's going for the medical field, pharmacy or dentistry, not decided yet, maybe even a doctor.

Is it too early to think that we might get married next time? We're both only 18. Actually, I turned 18 last month, and her 18th birthday will be later this year.

I hear what you're saying and I know it happens, but I'm not that kind of guy. I will be able to resist the temptation, and they're not very tempting to me anyway. She's a very good girl too, she won't look for other guys, and she won't even give them a chance if they try to chase her.

But our problem isn't about others interfering with our relationship, I already said I think it's more that we won't see each other much, and it'll be very hard for us not seeing each other every day and not being physically together.

Csaszar, how many years have you been in college, and how did you meet your girl? You're resisting the temptation well? Or did you have a few flings in your earlier college years? If you don't mind me asking.
