Change game so you keep players
At least for me it seems like I can never train my players enough to keep them progressing fast enough (even with a 3 year consecutive league champ I've turned my roster over at least two full times in 3 years). To keep pace with everyone you need to constantly sell your worst players and transfer in new players. Gives the game a mercenary feel like I'm just buying better players and shipping the other players off to the glue factory.
Would make more sense if a large portion of your income was somehow used to skilling up the players you have as opposed to just shuffling in new roster every year. Would also feel better.

Well this might be off topic but in college football , NFL , MLB , NBA and NHL teams do try to get rid of their worst players or at least get better in a position they might be lacking that is holding them back.
To me I rather have the current set up in only I don't ever want to be so attached to players that I cant get rid of them and if your idea goes through it will make it harder for me to part with players.
As it is now I only try to get players to replace retiring players and on a occasion I try to get better players for my team where I can get rid of a terrible player on my team yet it really works for me because it doesn't make me get attached to them or where I feel like you are feeling right now about your players.

I have players I keep a long time, even on a 35T budget. Decide who are the most worth keeping and play them every game you can and throw extra training at them they will be useful longer. Buy the most expensive guys you can find, they usually gain skill the fastest.
Expressed above is my own opinion. ☻ Your results may vary.

no point having the youth players come through, they are way behind even being average at the standard you are at, they will never get close to making the first team.
