2 New Competitions (CUP and SuperCUP)

Hey guys, I saw a lot of activity on this thread: http://forum.topeleven.com/suggestio...petitions.html so I decided to share with you my own idea.

Most of the ideas on this subject can't be created because is asking for a lot of new things to the game, like extending the season duration, increasing number of games per day or creating very complex new competitions.

My idea is to create something that will generate only benefits for the players and for the game.

First Competition: Something like UEFA CUP for places 5-7 (possible 3rd place from CL group stage).
*advantages for the game: increasing transfers activity, increasing quality of the league.
*advantages for the players: new competition(s), more reasons to play, a great chance for underdogs to win a trophy.

This competition won't affect the game and won't ask for major changes, the season duration can stay same, games can be played at the same time with Champions League.

Second Competition: A Super CUP between the new competition (a.k.a "UEFA CUP winner) and Champions League winner.
*advantages for the game: keeping a number of huge players activ until the last day of the season.
*advantages for the players: new competition, more reason to fight.

It can be played in the last day of the season to don't affect the game schedule.

Thanks for your proposal. I think UEFA like new cup have also been widely discussed in this forum in the past.

Personally, while I don't strongly object, I don't prefer adding extra matches to 5th - 7th place teams. If my team fell to these positions, I would like a enjoy a schedule with fewer matches.

I am not unhappy with current match schedule. But I may only enjoy new competition which will be on first 2 season days, and have low importance and prize so that I may ignore.

You can still play your reserves (and intentionally get your team knocked out of the competition).


If a Europa League or UEFA Cup sort of competition is introduced, the money prize for the Champions League should be increased, else the money prize for the newly introduced competition will be set to low (could be like the league or even lower, which is not desirable).

The problem with the Super Cup is for it to work there has to be the same number of competitions. If a consolation spot was offered to CL 3rd then thats 8 teams entering at knockout stage so 8 teams needed from 8 groups of 3, fewer matches. But that's preferable to to extending qualification to non-promoted teams.

I still would rather see an Invitation Tournament. Click Yes=In, Click No=Bot Replacement.

Voted yes anyway because I had no real reason to say no.

Creating same number of competitions should not be a problem. Plus this competitions can be closer to the reality then others.

Yea. There are various options to play including intentionally losing matches. So I may still live with new competitions added. So I am not strongly object.

I will stop discussing here if we will only concentrate how to make new competitions workable. I just wish not to increase burden of managers running 5th to 7th teams.

For any idea of new competition, I have already involved in some discussion threads when this was a hot topic in one year or more ago.

It won't be a 'burden' unless the money prize is too low or they set the time for the matches inappropriately.

An UEFA Cup / Europa League type of competition will give other users the opportunity to win something; it will also encourage some users after they came 3rd in the group stages and got knocked out of the Champions League. Also, it will make the group stages more competitive as the two bottom teams will fight for the 3rd place rather than giving up and playing with reserves.

Simply speaking, personally I don't enjoy more matches for 5th-7th teams. But again, I don't strongly object. This is my last post here as it is out of topic.

I agree with both, but in "UEFA CUP" must start with knock out rounds and not groups like CH.L. so if someone don't want to participate, just drop the first game.

I hope George not delete AGAIN my post... I would like to build my opinion in a "wall of a text" style and maybe you understand my point :)

Seems like trolling but if you think about my (and many of us) problem with the new drawing system you may understand WHY i'm not supporting your idea!

Let's analyze the new drawing system! Why analyze drawing system? Maybe the core of your idea is rooting from the league positions. I had near 50 friends in the start of the new season. Almost all of them has/had (deleted them don't care anymore) same low quality teams. I took the liberty and checked his/hers opponents... and 9X% of them had huge money and was not promoted team. The main problem is the RIFT between "same" level teams... until you are active with "N" quality there are N-2-3-4 or more lower Quality teams on your N level... and with this new system it will be much more rift between same level teams on same servers...

And the point: while active managers struggles for promoting and CL spots until with this sameQ draw system resulting gazillion abandoned/bot teams who are finishing 5th-7th places... and how can you except participating from a bot/abandoned team? :)
do the math/think about it mate, there will be narrow range of active managers who finishing in cup spots than abandoned teams :)

btw the core idea is super but but but... :(

We really don't need people to start flaming with other things, we already know how hard is to get Nordeus attention, if everyone would focus on one idea Nordeus maybe would do something so let's try to find solutions on people ideas and let's see how we can improve them.

Ok, let's get back on-topic. You said good what you said but don't you think this is the reason why 5-7 are inactive, because usually the teams who are 5-7 are always on that position and they are tired to fight for a piece of wood.

Let's do something for the underdogs too, let's give them a good trophy too. Usually people don't care if they win 4 or 7 because is quite same, people care only about 1-3 so that's why they are inactive. If they are on 6 they don't care if they will go on 4 or 7 for them is quite same but if they will have another competition ongoing for them for sure they won't give up and it will stimulate their activity.

That's the point of my idea, a Cup for underdogs that will also result in a CUP for Top Managers.

I really really like the idea of a UEFA cup. Gives teams vying for promotion an extra incentive to try and promote, whereas currently, finishing between 5th and 7th might be worse than not promoting at all.

Super cup sounds cool, but I don't know. Wouldn't the path for the "CL winner" be tougher than the path of the "UEFA cup" winner to that game? If its an exhibition type game, I totally support it. But if its a more prestigious award than the "champions league," I feel like it creates a backdoor way of reaching that match.

I wasn't even aware that game existed, goes to show the soccer/football coverage here in the USA. Since its a real game, I can't oppose it!!!

I like the idea about the extra cup on the day 20th of every season (only one match on that day). However, there is no way the Nordeus will create a super cup with champion league and europa league. I am the first one to against it. Let the fifth, sixth and seventh place in the league alone the way it is right now.

Instance of the team that held the title from previous league can versus the team that just won the champion league. The team that got two titles (champion and league) from last season can host the team just got only one title. It can be no possession for either team, but the team got two titles can make more money out from it, they deserve it.
Or maybe at least Nordeus pay some money to them for using their stadium (let say Extra Cup or Tough Dog Cup).

Now, we will have full schedule, two matches every day...if you get through all three tournaments for a season, you should know what I meant.

You are somehow right, for some players can be more but for them it will always be a way to get out (if you know what I mean) and there can be other solutions too.

On the other side, it will increase a lot the activity in game so I think it will be a huge plus because we will have both classes of players active.

Between place 4 and 5 (CL + new tournament) it won't be any difference, they will both get a wood ;) at the end of the season and 2 games per day in the new season.

Regarding your idea we can open another thread, you have my full support but I don't think is the best idea to talk here because we can go away from the topic. Thanks!

I was thinking about CL and a possible extra cup... so here is my idea! And this would seduce "my pain" about new drawing system too! :)

LIKE in real life... The strongest X leagues would add 4 best teams for Champions Leagues and next 3 for Nordeus cup, i don't want name after EU cups coz TE is worldwide :) Second strongest Y legues would add 3 best teams for CL and 2 or 3 for Nordeus cup and so on!

I don't like EU name because like you said is a WW game, that's why many times I said "the new competition". I agree with you here but it's much easier for UEFA because they have only few important leagues.

On the other side in the game there are over 100.000.000 teams so yea much complicated.

Regarding drawing system I think it should be random for all competitions, for me is the only way to make it fair but it's not just up to me, at the end Nordeus have the last word and they should know better.

If Super Cup participants are Champion League (CL) and UEFA Cup winner, there will be matching problem because number of CL and UEFA Cup winners may not be the same. It depends on design of UEFA Cup.

If we need to make no. of CL = no. of UEFA Cup, I think the no. of UEFA CUP participant should be 24 (i.e. 8 league to produce 1 UEFA Cup, same as CL). With 24 teams, 16 teams needs to participate an extra round to eliminate 8 of them to make the top 16. Is this a random draw or based on league strength (obviously there are huge different among the leagues) is a point to consider.

No team will be champion of CL & UEFA Cup in the same year. So this may be workable. However, I think it is not fair to traditional Cup winner. Even if traditional Cup has low competition prizes, I think it is great honor to be winner of this because it is the most difficult competition in T11 world (because 128 teams competes for 1 title).

Even if Super Cup is finally a simple match up between CL & UEFA Cup winners, I hope considering drawing teams in the same country, or region to same Super Cup. It is rare occasion to unite teams in same country.

This won't be a problem to create same amount of "new cup" with the number of CL cups because you are free to design it how you want and the number of teams is very similar.

You said "you don't think is fair for traditional cup winners". Well there must be a logic here, you can put Cup winner with CL winner because is weird. Cup is more connected to the league and not to the CL. Plus the level difference from CUP will create a huge problem so you just can't connected CUP from League or CL to create a super CUP, there are to many differences.

On the other side, as long "new cup/uefa" goes head-to-head with CL, teams coming from the same place can be great because everything is connected.

Regarding your last point, it's also a problem because a very huge number of players don't use their real country on team profile. I agree with you, to connected somehow teams from same zone is great.

I based on the assumption that CL vs new cup winner. Unless we invite some runners up to participate Super Cup, the eligible teams may not be even number.

I know it is free to design. I just voice out this point to alert some enthusiastic managers on designing of this new cup.

You are correct. Traditional cup has quite different nature. Involving it will make the new cup too complex.

Players also made their own decisions to select unreal countries on their team profiles. They may love the selected counrties or hate their own ones. We don't need to care about this.

Comparing with the no. of teams of individual countries, the no. of the successful champion teams of these counrtries are much lower. If grouping of Super Cup also consider country/region, the chances of same matchup in different seasons are higher. These may promote development of rival teams in these countries /regions. This certainly will make the game more interesting among the players in these countries /regions.

I just personally think this is interesting.

Why is so hard to read what we are writing there (me in this case), no offtopic. Trust me, we all have 200 ideas, some even more but this won't help if you don't share them. If you think you have good idea, first tell us here, each idea in a unique thread and we will see first as players if your ideas are good.

Post was not off topic if it was sorry for that.
But true have Ideas how to improve the game.
Some maybe would not be considered as good by developers
but some would be considered good.
Some of this Ideas is hard to explain by writing here.
Plus I'm not very good in explaining things by writing,
and nobody takes Me and My Ideas seriously
so I don't talk or give these Ideas anymore.
