How to deal with inactive/abandoned teams and illegal formations?

So everything will be like normal, but the scoreline is set at 3-0? How do you determine whether a team is inactive/abandoned or not?

Illegal formations might be a problem because an active manager might accidentally save an illegal formation, and then not have time to change it before the match starts.
