Nine star teams?

In auctions, I see teams and whole leagues with rosters filled with nine star players, even the bench? How is that possible? I know what it costs to create one or two but twenty plus?

lol. With the auctions, you are often bidding against teams of a higher level. If you are say level 4, and they are level 20, their players will appear to you are 9 stars, even though to them, they may only appear as 5.
