It would be hard to imagine that somewhere like New Zealand would have the same amount of players in this game as somewhere like China so at some point you would reach a critical mass position where it is no longer possible to only have 1 team from any nation in a competition.
Now to extend that idea a little it might be better to have each nation have a playoff amongst its own players with the top players from each nation then going to the finals where it would only be 1 team from any nation. Further to this I would have the amount of representatives from each nation be proportion based dependent upon player population from each nation. As an example lets say its 5% of the player population make the finals - NZ may have 1000 players so 50 representatives , China may have 10000 players so 500 representatives. The exact % can be moved a little to ensure we get only 1 team from a nation into a comp. For example it may be that only 495 from China are required so that limit is set at that point. Now given that T11 is played in probably almost every nation it may not be all that difficult to achieve 1 team from any nation.
Certainly this form of the concept may take longer and may need to run ( in the background ) for several months with the finals themselves held over a short period of 3 to 5 days.
