Special notice for Eren Demir (5 goals and 1 assist in 3 matches) and Francesco Palazzina (3 goals and 2 assists in 5 matches). I use them against weaker opponents. ;)
Marco Ronchi. A player I've had for quite some time. Bought him on auction when he was one point away from his sixth star. Three goals away from overtaking El Merghany as all-time club topscorer. His biggest feat is that he has been doing so playing as ST for most of his carreer.

Trương Phước Tứ. In Phuroc Tu I finally found my corner taker. Won top assists last season. This season he's leading top scorers ranking.

Wahid Saad. Won top scorers ranking last season. This year he has most assists in league.

Tom Caurant. Solid left back who has been with me for a while. Close to overtaking Islam Khalifa in most appearances. He's slowly starting to fall behind, but I haven't found a replacement yet.

Gamal El Merghany. Club top scorer of all-time. Close to 1 on 1 in league up until the end of his career with me.

Óscar Maldonado. Bought him when he was pretty old already. Has been great for a couple of seasons until he started to fall behind and developed some nasty habits (lots of yellows in the end). Finally I had to let him go.

Bakary Bourgeois. Almost the same story as Maldonado. Pretty old when I bought him, great for a couple of seasons, but he started to fall behind. I had to bench him which he didn't like. Sold him earlier this season.

I was going to take it easy, but only lost the league in the last quarter of the competition. Saad didn't take top scorer title for the third time in a row, partly because of a stupid loss on the final day against 12th place. Quickly out of cup on away goals. In CL I had a feeling I wouldn't make it, despite winning the first leg. So I set a better counter formation and ofcourse was knocked out.

Actually this wasn't such a great season. Had a bad streak in the middle with way too many draws. Quickly out of cup and CL ended (again) in 1/8 final. In league I had the best chance to win it in seasons, but halfway through the competition I felt it slowly slipping away. Luckily I wasn't the only one dropping points and at the end of the day I had done just enough to take home another title.

Again I thought that maybe this was the season I was going to tank. Instead I had my most succesful season so far and won my first double. I didn't even have to try that hard. In league my opponents just kept spilling points. In Cup I had a nice fight in semi's (through on away goals) against a solid, stronger team, but the rest of it was pretty straightforward. In CL I maybe could have made it to the finals, but then I would have been up against a much stronger level 14 team. I don't think I would have won that.
This season I really need to rebuild my team. I've held on to some players for nostalgic reasons for a bit too long. At the least I need another DC plus a back-up ST and AML. Last season I found myself running out of options.

Not sure what I'm going to do this season, I'm not really that motivated. I might take it easy and focus on Associations. But maybe I can keep winning and be competitive again. Will see what happens. :)
I would highly recommend making one of your CM in CDM in order to protect the defense a little more. I feel T11 has turned into a 2 up top kind of game.
I would suggest trying out some different formations like a 4-2-2-2 which is what I use.
Thanks, but I'm actually pretty happy with 4-3-2W-1 at the moment. I know how to play it and I know I can beat stronger opponents when playing it (sometimes using def/counter). Logic says you need a DMC when you're opponent is playing with an AMC. Experience taught me it really doesn't make that much of a difference. I don't do worse against AMC formations.
I used to play 4-5-1V, but I like the little more offensive style and the stronger midfield of 4-3-2W-1. I did try 4-2-2-2 hex in the past, but it doesn't suit me. I guess it's a little too offensive for my style of play.
Just to be curious (and because there's always something more to learn): what observation made you to believe I would be better off changing formation? :)

Yeah, maybe. But in FA level 3x managers with all scout teams are usually having a hard time against me.

History
Because I was tanking, 3* Phuroc Tu got to play a substantial amount of matches. He's now on 151 goals and 117 assists in 259 matches and shares the record for most goals in a match with Park.

Won the league. I lost the first two matches, but was unbeaten after that. Only Amarildo (a loss and a draw) managed to beat me over two matches. He started supporting me and added me as a friend halfway through the competition. Of course I accepted. Towards the end of the league I was going to add FC Antwerpen as well (I've met him before), but it turned out he had already sent me a friend request. Funny how things work out.
Cup proved to be too strong and ended in the quarter finals. No CL or SL/NML because I tanked the previous season.

At the end of this season, Marco Ronchi will retire. He's had a great couple of seasons with me. I've tried to sell him after that, but couldn't get rid of him. So I just kept him up until the end.
