Player Feature - Patrick Tillmanns
Veteran right-winger and penalty-taker, Patrick Tillmanns joined the club as a result of the Management taking up an Assistant Manger Recommendation in Season 13, Day 20. Then a fresh-faced 19-year-old, he made a cameo appearance in the second-half of League Match 16, then made a MoM contribution in his first start in the Champions League Quarter-Final 1st Leg match. At the end of the season, he was able to celebrate being part of Desert Rats' first Triple Crown season.
The following season, he formed a partnership with his opposite number on the left wing, Kostadin Marinov, a Scout purchase early on in that season, which remained unbroken until the middle of season 18, when Marinov was the subject of a Negotiations offer the Management couldn't refuse. Played 32 matches, 38 goals.
In Season 15 he hit the ground running and couldn't stop scoring, netting 56 goals in all competitions, including 7 hat-tricks and two 4-goal hauls.
He returned back to earth in Season 16, only just getting 40 goals in his 38 matches.
Tillmanns fourth full season with the club was interruped by two periods of injury, but he still managed nearly a goal a match.
He returned to full fitness for Season 18, playing 38 matches but his scoring rate dropped a bit. He also had a serious brush with officialdom, being shown the only red card of his Career.
Last season, he was one of the players slated for replacement by the Management, starting the season in the mid-4* Quality, but he kept producing good performances and vital goals, and he kept his place.
This season, he again appeared on the 'to-go' list, but again is defying his 4* rating by helping himself to 10 goals already. The writing is on the wall, however, as the Youth setup produced a high-4* graduate at the beginning of the season, and this player is being groomed to succeed him.
