When to use "Pressing Whole Pitch"?
when you want to attack and nothing else to lose .. your players will get tired but you will dominate more and create chances
you may play better but you give up possession more often with own half. You create more turnovers and interceptions and gain more possession, otherwise with own half, you give possession and only intercept in your own zone.
It all depends on how you want to play and if you have the players to play that style.
My setting is always on play own half...no matter where or who im playing...but still to play attacking...ive found this to work fairly well...what you loose on possession you gain in security from counter attacks & in general defending...
Every time ive tried to play the whole pitch it doesn't really make much difference in the result so i figured not to use it...
I assume pressing wholepitch work perfectly if you have more players on the opponent half, for isntant: formation like 3dc, 2 mc, 3amr/c/l and 2 ST or motivated form should press opponents in their half cos you have too few players in your own half for defending
Pressing the whole pitch is what dominating teams do against inferior sides that park the bus in front of the goal.
Pressing, pressing, pressing until it breaks down. Not rarely, the underdogs snatch a counter attack goal and things go wrong, you all have seen this.
I press whole pitch when i attack and play offside trap, works well for me, if they are supposed to make a difference, then they don't make a bad one.....
I must use whole pitch pressing and hard tackling against better team.
I use it every game.

when pressing whole pitch you are also more vulnerable for counter attacks
