Let's face it, if you want to win a match you'll want to take all the help you can get. +5% possession is way better than no possession at all. Max possession bonus is 15% so having a full stadium can get you a third of that without any effort from the manager at all.

We are playing a game of probabilities, and we need to manipulate all the probables we can ... having no bonus possession surely isnt gonna help your cause.
As Han used to say: "50% of something is better than 100% of nothing." (except in this case its 5-15% but you guys get the idea.)
