I think he just removed the players from the formation ... I had similar kind of opponent who has only 4 players shown in the formation but in the match he appeared with total 11 players .... its a strategy that they use so that the opponent don't know what formation he use ...

He is probably selling his players. Don't expect him to be an easy target.

Use the bloody formation And tactics sections! Its an illegal formation ffs, play any legal formation to win!

he's not selling his players and he's not using any strategies to disguise his formation, he's just not active anymore, when you see formations like that with missing players, means that players that once occupied those positions retired (you cannot remove players on purpose), when a match must be played, the game engine will automatically fill the missing positions

anyway, he doesn't even have a proper GK, you will crush him with basically every formation
