    Does it matter if you do it at the end of this season or the beginning of the next? Thinking they will drop a star - does this affect anything?

    renew at start of season if your promoted as it will cost less to re-sign

    edit; if you have any skill point`s to add on do after you`v signed them as their value goes back up
