Why do I lose with 70% possession and twice as good players?

I'm a level 3 manager and just lost a game by 1-0 to a team with two 3* players and the rest were 2*. Myself, I started with a 6* goalie, four 5* players and six 4* players. The possession favoured me by 30-70%. I play hard attacking but still lost the shot rate 15-10. Can provide pics later, but have I missed something important?

Yeah you did miss something very important......, uhm, unlucky!

1. Your formation have a problem. may be you chose wrong formation to counter him
2. Hard attacking and your much weaker opponent chose denfensif and counter attack and lost 1-0 is something classic and typical in real life. Greece won europe 2004 by that way.
change your ordre to attacking insteed of hard attacking. post the match rating here we may have some ideal about it

4-4-2 is actually a good counter formation for your formation.

If you play 4-4-2 in the future I recommend you play

4-4-1-1 is a good counter-formation for the 4-4-2.

My orders for 4-4-1-1:
Through the middle
Normal tackling
any pressing style.. and so on

encourage AMC and it will be optimal!

Well, my formation is supposed to be good against classic 4-4-2.. Oh well. Hopefully only a one-time event but I was devastated either way Thanks for the answers!

From experience I found that the 4-4-2 classic exploits the flanks.

no probleme with formation (except you attack both flanks but i think you didn't). Hard attacking cause problem but quality distance is too grand. only unlucky cause you a lost in this situation.

Okay so I skip the hard attacking and go for attacking. And I should attack down both flanks? I've always set it to through the middle since it's where I've got my players, haha
