How to Play against 3-1-4-2

If you mean 3 DCs in defence then you can play a 4-5-1 V formation

DL(⇧)-DC-DC-DR(⇧)

The ⇧ means put attacking red arrow on that player

Use this orders as well:
Mentality: Normal
Passing style: Mixed
Focus passing: Down both flanks
Pressing: Own half
Force Counter attack: Yes
Offside trap: No
Marking: Zonal marking

I used this personally against 3-1-4-2 and won 5-0 and 6-2
