Because there's only one bider on Knockout round 8, so the auction finished.

I understand now,i though Knockout 9 will happen :S I lose 8 tokens

You have to bid once in each knockout round if you want the auction to continue.

If only one person bids in that knockout round, that person wins the auction.

If no one bids in the knockout round, the last person to bid in the previous knockout round wins.

He "snitched" the player by putting "a-last-second-bid". You can never be sure you will get the player since both are qualified. You always need to bid another T to make sure you get the player (or proceed to the next round).
