uummm.. i'm not so sure since there are so many tactical masters here in this forum but i will give it a try..
1st formation ::
i think you shouldn't put down both flanks since this formation relies on men on the middle and you shouldn't burden the attack only to your wingback / LR DM and thus you shouldn't put red arrow on them. i would suggest you play possession football with short/mixed passing.
2nd formation ::
same as the 1st. i will go with red arrow on DR or DL only if i'm confident that i will thrash the opponent out with many goals and if DR and DL also have good attacking attributes and good performance or i'm sure that i will get bonus possession of 8% or more.
3rd formation ::
since this is rather a defensive one, now you may exploit your flanks and use long ball to them and feed your lonely striker. if you use this strategy, then the red arrows will be helpful.
as for pressing, tackling, offside, and counter, they depend on your mentality. and your mentality depends on your opponents of course. i have tendency to always tick the counterattack in every match, and use one half pressing and hard tackling only when facing stronger opponent. when i battle against teams in the same level as me or below my quality, i would use whole pitch pressing and easy tackling. i use counterattack when the opposition side has too much space between striker and midfielder (and they usually only use 1 striker) and i'm sure they will exploit long ball and thus i kill his strategy by using offside trap.
