I've won the Champions League 6 times out of 8 attempts now, but this one was my proudest yet.

Leetown City (60.5) v VATAN 66 SPORT (68.5)

Vatan are heavy token buyers with every player a scouted player and many as 7* players. I set up my team earlier in the morning as a 4-1-2-3 formation and waited. Sure enough, he changed his formation to 3-4-1-2 to counter my formation. Perfect I thought. 10 minutes before kick-off (while out with the lads), I changed to my best line-up of 4-1-3-2 and set it up to attack down the flanks with the full-backs pushing up in support.

That was the last I got to see it. When I looked at the result I was expecting the worst, especially as he watched the game with 3 others to give him a 14% boost. Yet for all this, he stuck with his out-manoeuvred tactics and had only a 53-47 advantage.

My average is deceptive I suppose, some weaker reserves bringing it down. The first team featured 5 6* and 1 7* players. He took the lead after 29 minutes, but when 6* striker Morton fed in the left back Lampe, the score at half time was 1-1. It stayed like that until the 7* left winger Moncur hit a great solo strike to give a 2-1 lead. That only lasted 2 minutes as Yates set up Gedy for the equaliser.

Then came the decisive moment. Leetown City got a free-kick on the edge of the box and free-kick specialist Moncur curled it in to seal an amazing 3-2 victory. Just goes to show you that sheer player quality ISN'T the most important thing...
