Illegal formations

Are they actually illegal to use? I mean can someone get in trouble for using them?

This guy beat me 3-0 having much more possession than me during the game and he was absent. Today i supported his opposing team to even things out, with my support he won that game with a possession of Home team 20% his team 80%.
