Illegal formations

Are they actually illegal to use? I mean can someone get in trouble for using them?

This guy beat me 3-0 having much more possession than me during the game and he was absent. Today i supported his opposing team to even things out, with my support he won that game with a possession of Home team 20% his team 80%.

They aren't actually illegal. If that guy had a 80% Ball Possession and his enemy had 20% Ball Possession, the opponent had an illegal formation which results in 20% Ball Possession.

The formation in the screenshot is a legal formation which means the one who is using that formation will get above 20% Ball Possession.

You are misinterpreting what we mean by an illegal formation. No, you won't get in trouble and no, you won't get arrested by the Nordeus police. An illegal formation is a formation that will lose you a lot of possession.. As Confuzzled said, you will get a maximum of 20% if you use an illegal formation.

Interesting, the guy that had 20% possession was playing home with full attendance, i was supporting him and i think he was playing 4-3-3 so i know it wasn't illegal. That mean he had 7% bonus possession from the attendance and my support, which left his team to only manage 13% possession on their own? He always plays with this formation so i have to find a counter formation for it for the 2nd round in the league since i'm playing AWAY.

If they not using illegal formation and still had 20% posession, that's mean all his player was out of position, like GK as ST or DC as MC..
