The red or blue arrows??

I have been playing this game since 6 seasons but yet don't know what the red or blue arrows are!!! Do the mean that the blue arrowed players will be defensive while the red arrowed ones will be attacking??? Or do they mean that the blue arrow ones will move half a square back while the red ones will move half a square forward??? Everyone seems to have a different opinion and so I thought of creating a thread on it. Whats ur pick?
