Champions League, Top 16, 2nd Leg
United Til I Die (5)2-1(2) FCB
United Til I Die 98.6 4-1-4-1 then 4-3N-2W-1 - FCB 98.2 4-3N-3
We had possession and more shots on target but we were under the cosh and we fell behind in the 14th minute but we did not panic and on the half hour Sanchez shot from distance and got us level, it was pretty even stuff in the second half and we were not prepared to wait for them to score again so we pushed the wingers forward and replaced our DMC with Suljevic which had us carving out more chances and we got our reward 6 minutes from time when Bosch passed to Sanchez who scored again.
Goals: Hosainzadeh (14), Sanchez (34,84) MOTM: Costa
Team Talk: Tough match but maybe we just deserved it.
CL - 1/8 - Second leg
Gaku FC (63.2) 3-1 Chester FC (59.1)
3N-4-1-2 vs 3DC-2MC-3W-2
First leg: 3-2 for Gaku
Players of CFC have 0% condition. In 5' injuried ST, without players for subs.
I watched the match, basically the goals that Barcelona were scored came from a counter attack and a double corner so it was very unfortunate. At the start, July Fourth had a bunch of opportunities to score but they kept missing from 1 vs 1 chances. All of Petersen's corners were headed out...it was more of a troll result really. Formation shouldn't really matter considering the quality gap.

This was my Cl leg against a 4-4-2 user with slightly lower Quality (59 vs 54 with several 1* benchers), and the butterfly worked good. Same for ND so far in the season. But still, did he score on counters?

Ding Ding Diiiiiiiiiiing. And the Ding show continues as he scores yet another Hatrick.Didn't demolish our opponents like we would've wanted too, but a easy enough victory.
Thanks to dv8r, Wiesse, FCB and dan1daking for advice on a counter.

My issue with the butterfly is that a lot of the players are just dotted around the pitch, leaving free space to exploit. I'd be happy to test your orders with this formation and see if it does well for me. But 4-1-4-1 is what I use now after having 3 seasons of disappointment with the butterfly.
Actually... tell you i am playing against the butterfly tonight in a dead rubber CL match. I will use the 4-4-2 classic and see if he gets anything on me.
I experienced it too a lot in the first part of the season. like the team is going through a lack of concentration/form overall. If you noticed this season, even easy wins against mediocre opponents and illegal formation has the opponent's shoot counter high no matter what dominance you apply. In the past seasons i even ended matches with 0/0 from the opponents, but this seems to have been changed.
League round 15
What a terrible result. We missed so many chances. Defense and goalkeeper from opponent were good in this match. Started with 4-1-4-1 and scored quick. But after that we couldn't score any goal. In 73' we switched to 4-3-2-1 with no succes. Couldn't score any goal. Goalkeeper from opponent saved 2 freekicks. But after this result we are glad we have the victory. We are most succes against 4-3n-3 with 3n-3n-2-2.

CL 1/8 final match 2
Both managers were present and opponent manager had 1 supporter. We have chosen for the formation 3n-3n-2-2 and it was a good choice. This formation we play better than 4-1-4-1 and 4-3-2-1 against 4-3-3. It was a good game for us but also a though game. We are trough the next round.

I played with red arrows on AML/AMR and central DC to act as sweeper (he is dc/dmc), Normal mentality, whole pitch, mixed focus, mixed passing, normal tackle, zone marking.
6 of my 11 main players were on bench. Overall i played with 5 scouts and 6 5* benchers. Minimum prize for cl match, and the 5 scouts already played the League match 3 hours before.
EDIT: since i play with red arrowed DC as sweeper, he's my top assister.

Champions League 1/16 round - 2nd leg
Perfect Tactics (4) 2-0 (0) I.T.M.
Perfect Tactics: 83.7, 4-4-2 classic/4-2-2-2 hex/4-1-2-1-2 ND | I.T.M. 74.1, butterfly
Perfect Tactics win 6-0 on aggregate.
This was pretty much a dead rubber because we won the first leg 4-0. So we got round to testing the 4-4-2 classic against the butterfly and hence, we dominated possession and chances. Playing through the middle, exploited their weakness and Silly grabbed the opening goal on 9 minutes. We didn't really threaten after that, just a bunch of missed chances and blocked shots. It was a boring game and the 2nd goal came from Nascimento, knocking in from Dickson's accurate pass. I.T.M. hardly threatened all match apart from 2 corners which were headed away by an alert defence.
Goals: Silly (9'), Nascimento (83')
MOTM: Petersen Jr (?)

not much to say, ok performance, ok result. 50% max rewards given. 6-2 on aggregate.
We were quite satisfied to have won 2 matches injuries-free, with the same line ups and formation (due to sleep hours schedule :D)
Breaking News - July Fourth To Be Retired
I've decided the time has come to retire July Fourth as my main club for match reports and updates at the end of this season, Heavy token investments are to cease and I am looking at a brand new adventure to takeover next season from July Fourth. Of course July Fourth will still be played but not on a much more widely active basis.
Sorry to read this JF :)
Next season is yours :D
Good mornin guys. Nothing special for us, we are out from cl and cup so all what we have is to focus on league, which shouldn't be a very big problem.
Today we want to score 3+ !
Champions League Round 16 Match - 2

On aggregate of 6-2 We are in next round
Wibowo (73')
Carrillo (89')
MOTM: Blasko
Match Report:
We got good result here. It is not a tough match but we did not score goals in the 1st half because of orders. Our orders were wrong and could not score single goal but we defended very well with out giving single .
We changed the orders during the half time but there was no use then we switched to 4-1-3-2 at 73'. We got a goal very same minute we switch the formation. Belmonte gave excellent pass to Wibowo and scored a goal at 73'.
Carrillo shoot from long range and scored a goal at end of the match at 89'. We finished with 2-0.
Team Talk: Good win.
We have sold Gott for 78m to make way for new youths and to finance large seat upgrade!
Been away for a few days, playing pool in Great Yarmouth don't ya know :-)
