Does anyone have a definition of what each one does?

Some as self explanatory but others aren't ie: what beneficial skill do second strikers and defensive walls bring etc?

Only two of my squad don't possess a special ability and I only now buy players with them, am I wasting my time with some?

Yes, Nordeus has the definition of what each one does and refuses to give us this information. They are very, very vague when it comes to giving out any information on this game and the information on SA's is quite lacking in every respect.

Send an email to Nordeus support and ask them for more info. And make sure to ask for more info that is not already included on their website and wiki or else you are wasting your time as they are sure to point you to them.

The explanation on their website and wiki are as you said very vague.

just trust me. If it is not on their website or wiki, then they have not released the official information. It is literally impossible to get the information any other way than to ask nordeus. And this is because the in-game information is non-existant.

So if you want the info, you know how to get it. Ask Nordeus.

I think there is an explanation at the official wiki. It says that when a player's SA is active, he performs as a player of one level higher. About the shadow striker, I'm not sure but I think it means that that player is good when he shoots from distance, which means his attack abilities will be increased by 5 points when he shoots from distance. This is one of the best SA as shooting from distance is a very common thing for an AM. A defender with a Defensive Wall SA will have his defense capabilities increased by 5 when the opponent is shooting a free-kick, especially when crossing. Anyway, this ability is more necessary when the opponent has a free-kick specialist.

Special abilities are specializations that let players excel in certain situations. Whenever the conditions for a specialization trigger, the player will count as being of one star higher quality for that opportunity.

A better more descriptive explanation should be supplied with an example, so there are no misunderstandings.

What this means to me is that if you are a 65Q with free kick, and he is set to take a free kick, then he would gain one star and be 70Q for that kick. Confirmation of which exact skills go up to 70Q would be nice.

I'm sorry but where is this noted? How do we know that there is a 5Q bonus for stats if they have a special ability? Did this come straight from a dev? I'm not too sure about the wiki, it might be edited by other people, no?

I too never buy any player that is not equipped with special ability. The reason being that i have noticed although a player that has a special ability is obviously better than a likewise player without that special ability, the price is the same. Having a special ability does not increase the transfer value. This i believe is crazy but true. I managed to give a 20yr old striker valued '5.3M' a 'one on one' special ability, to my amazement his value stayed the same? - I mean that player has just had an extra 50 skill points spent on him and his value did not budge. This makes me wonder how 'special' a special ability truly is?

Yeah, I had to check this too, but its right on the wiki, so I CANT prove that it comes from the devs.

Since we know that the devs did not do the wiki and we dont know if they updated it with real information, I can only assume that it is bollocks. I would not bet my life on it unless Nordeus puts it that they input the information or they provide their actual source.

What is important to note is this:"the player will count as being of one star higher quality for that opportunity". how exactly that happens numberwise is what i want to know. I want them to provide an example so I understand it 100%
