Quick question.....
just Had my 2 youth players come through ... the main token player is 18 tokens ... are they any good ?
yep 18 to 24 (max ) are good as they are fast trainer`s but to be honest i normally let token one`s go as i can better in market for less and sign non token to train but not play to sell on first day of season as i love bidding wars :)
18 is 3rd best, 21T is better and 24T is the best, but some here will say that it is only a guideline that the highest token players are the fastest trainers.
Before you buy one of the youth players, always go to the transfer list and see if you can get an 18yo of that position and try to get the most expensive for less tokens than the youth would cost you, in this case 18T. If you can pick up the player on the transfer list for less than 18T then dont bother buying your youth, unless you dont have the money to buy it, then its a trade-off = youth for 18T and no money paid, or youth from auction for 5-10T and mucho $$$ paid. If you have the $$$, its better to buy from the auction list.
Well I can't decide what to do . the player in question is level 41 DR ... my main DR is level 51 age 24 but he can also player DMR.
My only other DR is level 35 age 21 , he can also play DC , but I have plenty of better players in DC. I'm lacking another DR player , but don't know if he's worth it :(
It's always a difficult decision to make. Depending on what level you are, money may be a factor too. At least the market value of the youth players tend to be somewhat equal to what a bank investment would get you for the same amount of tokens. So it's often worth it to sign the player and see if you will use him or sell him afterwards. The mental aspect of releasing your youth player and having someone else sign him as a free transfer is also slightly upsetting.
18-24 tokens is a big chunk if you only have 35 tokens per season income though, so nobody can make this choice easier for you I'm afraid.
If you're not a power trainer don't bother with him. It'll do you 1 or 2 seasons more than a regular 5* player from the transfer list, and, with the tokens it costs you can easly buy 4 or 5 5* players.
If you are a power trainer, and are looking for fast trainers, then they are not cheap but they are granted and train very fast, so you'll be able to keep them at top levels for several seasons.
Sorry I should have said .. im a level 6 manager .. player in question is 4 star level 41
I'm just starting to do the whoel power train thing with a young goalie I got. Doing more than one player seems impossible tho unless you have green token coming from your behind lol
For me they are always good buys.
My first one is still in the Team, plays as MC and is average is 0,5 goals/game witch for a player in His position is very good.
The second, got injured 4 times, 3 in the same season, i put it on sale, and end in a bid war, so a goo income to me.
The third is now my 2nd GK, and he is playing very well, Everytime i need him.
Still waiting for them this season, just need to upgrade the youth academy in the right time, to get them earlier in the season.
you can do your own math. Level 41, he is at least 46 points away from level 45 (5*). That means, W/O power training at best, he'll be just getting there at season's end. Next season you'll start again from low 4* and hopefully he'll be back at 5* at season's end, if you play him a lot, and same for the 3rd season. There onwards, forget, he'll never be back at 5* W/O power trainning.
Let's say you can buy now a high 5* player for, let's say 5 tokens. Most likely he'll be 6* or just, by season's end.
Next season you'll have a 5* player for all season. next season you buy another high 5* for more 10 tokens (you had to work ahrd on this one), so third season, you have another 5* player for same spot, and with some luck, he'll do you the following season also with 5 star. So you have a 5* player for a full 4 seasons spending less than the youth's cost.
I disagree, mainly because not everyone has access to 5* players on their transfer list with any regularity. I had to tank a few seasons to be able to get 5* players, so I seriously looked at the youth that came through my system. If the new youth is better than anything you can find on the transfer list, then buy him. plain and simple.
Look at my level 6 team and there is a $5M 18yo DC/DR I would buy. he is not the most expensive but he is up there.

Yeah it seems on right at the top server wise ... never get anything good , and when its does its a frenzy :( so relying on my youth
And what's wrong with the older ones?
2 season ago i picked 2 31 Year old players both 5*, both with sa for 2 tokens a piece. They did very well, and are now 4 * and still playing regularly (i tanked last season). If i get one of these every season, for 4 seasons, instead of the youth guy, i'll be having a 5* player for 4 full seasons, by a cost still lower than a youth player.
Of course they won't be good for more than 1, 2 seasons at most, but still...
I signed 3 youth players so far. One is now 21 Y/O and is 4* trying to get back to 5*, even though i tanked last season. He cost me 24T. Another is 22 Y/O, 3* and only played first team part of a season were i was trying to get him up to 5*.
On my second team i signed one, this season, for 2 reasons: I got him on day 2, and i don't have time to look for players on that team, so as he was dual-position and for one spot i was in need, i decided to take the chance. Maybe i found a mix of circumstances where a youth player may be a good choice. I'll let you guys know in a couple of seasons.
at 41 i would not bother if 44 then yes and if enough greens you can power train, i`m level 13 and signed my second player in 15 season`s and he cost me 24 tokens but he was close to 5 star to sign and power train so i will have for 4/5 seasons, he also started his first game as a striker and scored 2 goals v a stronger team :)
Well in this season i buy 9 young players and I'm not having good results (3-6 and 1-6) in the league and I'm considering whether to take the right decision in buying young players between 18 and 20 years without skill.
I am also thinking of tanking to teach skills to young players purchased. That they think it is better to buy young players or players +24 years with skills ?
League 5W 0D 4L -6 goals
Cup 5W 1D 0L +12 goals
CL 0W 1D 4L -5 goals
Just think of it as building for the future.
My team is quite young, the age average is 21.1, but it seems they have not come together, so there are not too good results
So I'm in my 2nd season, top of my league (1st last season), top of CL Group but out the Cup.
I tend to play 4-1-2W-1-2 in all my games injuries permitting. I was looking forward to my new Youth Players and got a 4* Q20 MC 1.02M 15T and a 2* Q10 DL 280k.
The 4* only played 27mins (getting a 7 rating) but then got injured the next game after just 9mins.
So not really had a chance to see if he can play well enough in one of the 4 wide diamond points nor even see if he trains well yet.
But lets say I decide to sell him (714k-918k) and a 1.6M investment costs 25T, is selling him a viable option considering I've forked out 15T for him? My budget is 2.47M so far and only slowly going up with Wins prizes, but even with another title win would I have enough for a good enough player without selling this youngster?
I do feel like selling my 3 MCs as they'd only be played out of position, plus I need space to build my team for cover.
Funnily Q10 DL has played for 4 7s and providing decent cover at DL atm
Would they actually appear on the market? and for free for that matter?
As a lowly 4th league dreamer, I am expecting 2 newbies from my youth investment in the next 4 days. Are they ever any good? What do people tend to do? Sell them straight away, invest sometime with them, give them a special skill to learn. Are there any success stories, like wow he had a 30 plus skill level at 18? Do any of you guys still have a youth player whose now a regular in your squad? Simply, should I get excited lol :)
Youth players that you get are normally a 4* (but sometimes 3*) which costs between 12-24T and they are fast trainers and you have to use green boosters to develop these players to a decent standard for your team and you can train them extra roles and SA if required. The other youth is a 2* (or 1*) duck which can be sold for quick $ since they will never really be good enough to play for your team.
Another major problem is the timing of the youth players arrival and they can arrive late in the season and lose a star should your team promote to the next level making them less attractive to buy.
Yes they do appear in your line-up and they will have a U21 icon when they arrive but you need to offer them a contract and it will tell you the price in T, The free one will say 0T and you can sign straight away assuming you have space in your squad for him, If you have 22 players in your team already, you will have to sell a player.
So its back to paying again and real money, as even if I had got every token due to me by now, and not bought a single other player the chances of me having a spare 24 tokens is like zero, so can i sell them without offering a contract to them to get some reward for building the youth pitches?
And the other question has anyone ever paid the 24 tokens, provided the training and got a fantastic player who went on to become a great asset to their team? Or is it all a waste of time, stick with the auctions?
First nothing is free in this game except the free youth you sign for Zero tokens and sell immediately. Which brings me to a funny story: I kept my last Zero token youth in a lower account because he was better than my worst player on the team and that is the reason why I am tanking with that account.
Still, you usually always sell the Zero token youth for the $$$. Its free $$$.
It is rare that I will spend the 15T, or 24T for that matter, on a youth player since I have tons of 5* players on my transfer list now that I have tanked a few seasons. They are only worth it if you dont have the $$$ for one of the fast training 18yo on the list, which are expensive.
If you buy tokens, then it is worth it to buy only the 24T one that comes seldomly. Otherwise just pick out the 18yo most expensive player on the transfer list and buy him for less than 24T.
It comes down to this: If you dont have the money but have spare tokens, buy the youth(if you cant find the equivalent on the market). If you have the money but not enough tokens, which is the case with me in most of my accounts, then its an immediate release. If you buy tokens, then you should only buy the youth if he is 21/24T or you cant find an equivalent on the transfer market.
I hope that helps.
what Killerbee said is personal, and frankly, its nonsense. After 11 seasons for me, I could give a **** if someone else signs my youth. Why? Because for the people who usually sign them, they are 5* for them and I get money out of it. Good for them. Good for me.
If I dont want them, they can have them since they are useless to me. End of.
buying youth players that are fast trainers are good if you want to save tokens and plan on tanking a few seasons to let them build. this is only if you dont buy tokens. Otherwise, you would power train them to scout or higher.
That is the only advantage to buying youth over aged players, since they all play with the same skill no matter what age.
I would always wait with selling till near the end of the season so you raise the market value a lot more through training/matches. In general, if you're going to just sell the player, you would want to do so early on. There's no point in using that big amount of tokens for a player you want to sell if you'll sell him the next season because the bank investment will yield much higher funds in the next season than the current.
If they appear free on the market if you don't sign, I believe so. Others have stated this before and I've seen a bunch of 18 year old (F) before that led me to believe they were unsigned youths.
No no, you misunderstand me. I'm talking about the fact that Nordeus has created a system where the youth you train is not really your own youth. It's painful that you have to pay 24 tokens for your own youth, yet if you decide that is too much and don't sign him, there will be someone else on the transfer market who can sign him for (possibly) 1 token.
In the situation that you don't sign the player, you gain no funds or benefit for him at all even though your training facility used up all that 'time' to produce him. That's what I mean with my annoyment that someone else can get the player that I trained and brought from my youth for a low cost, and I have to pay out of my ears to sign him.
I get your point now. Bet even Cracicot will get it. It is frustrating the even after spending all the money and time on Youth Facility, u can't take advantage of or players. They should be free but who can make Nordeus understand that. But, on the brighter side, even we sign the youths of someone else's facility. So it gets evened out!!!!
Cheers. :)
I get your point now, yes, we should not have to pay to sign our own youth players at all. They should both be ZERO tokens, and when you release the expensive one, he goes on the transfer list and someone, in theory, can pick him up for one token when you had to pay 24T for him. yes I get that and agree with you.
At the end of the day, nordeus does this to make you waste your tokens. Everything in this game is built to do that. But some of them are fair and some are unfair. This is one of those unfair ones. Paying a token to change a name is also useless and unfair. Changing the time of a game so its not 15 mins after your first one is also unfair that it costs 2 tokens.
Remember this game is here to make money, not to make sense. If nordeus had people who knew more about business and gaming, they could change this for the better, but frankly, it looks like a lost cause. They are sucking the enjoyment out of the game at the cost of their greed. plain and simple.
What I meant is if they'd appear has (F) free on auction but Killerbee swears by it.
You're right, they need to come up with this way to make us use our tokens, just 24T is an awful lot. At most they should be a few T's so that we'd prefer to take this top player than be forced into a bidding war.
And true, if they are not good enough then let some have them... the $$$ you get from the free youth more than pays for the investment in building the academy (well at my 1st 2 upgrades at least)
Thanks, I'll remember that. And take this 15T spent as a 1st season lesson, and hopefully he plays ok in any 4 positions i play him in when needed
btw, if you're rarely using your Ts to buy your Youth player, are you solely using them for auctions?
Also, is spending 2T so you can watch a game worth it to improve your chances of winning the match?
Sorry the question was for Cracicot but I will like to state my opinion here as it is the same as that of Cracicot.
The answer is NO!!! Iats not much difference. Just play it. If u buy tokens, it may be fine. But if u play with 35 T budget, don't waste ur tokens there.
Thanks and sorry again for the out of turn answer.:D
will i still get the player if there is 0 days left?
Last season, at the second day of the season specifically, I got my two youth players ( one is 1* and the other was 5* for 25 tokens). So I bought the player with the 5* for 25T and put him on the starting line up. He is a striker, at his first game he scored a hatrick. Throughout the season I train him and I got him 6 stars by the end of the season. Last season he was the top scorer, top rated, and top assists. He scored 30 goals in league, 14 assists and high rating of 10.0. Today he is back to 5* I will try to get him back to 6 stars and if he performs like he did last season, I will keep him for the next couple of seasons.
So in conclusion, youth players really perform excellent especially those with high token cost. And if you are a fast trainer, you can get him to 4 or 5 stars. (Only if you have 25 tokens and you want to spend it on that youth player.
Also I put that youth player as the first captain, first penalty taker, and first free kick taker. Almost every time my team gets a free kick, he scores and never miss.
I think you must wear glasses :rolleyes:Quote:

I am a fast trainer  so I must give 25 tokens to make a player 4* :confused:Quote:
